Ultra Tune magnate Sean Buckley is having his heart checked as the millionaire faces accusations he orchestrated a seven-month stalking campaign.
The 61-year-old founder of the auto parts company is charged with 12 offences against his former partner Jennifer Cruz Cole from April to December 2020.
He did not appear in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court for the brief administrative hearing on Thursday afternoon.
His barrister Remy van de Wiel QC told the court that Mr Buckley was having tests done on his heart.
“He is having electronic monitoring conducted on himself,” Mr van de Wiel told the court.
The businessman allegedly enlisted two men – Wade D’Andrea and former employee Anthony Swords – to stalk Ms Cole.
Swords pleaded guilty to installing a camera outside Ms Cole’s home in April and was fined $1000.
The court was told that CCTV needed to be formatted in the case of Mr D’Andrea, who appeared via link on Thursday and is also facing stalking charges.
At a previous hearing the court was told that Ms Cole discovered the 40-year-old attempting to retrieve listening devices at her home.
Mr D’Andrea followed Ms Cole, loitered outside her home and was “interfering” with her LandRover, the court was told.
Mr Buckley is expected to fight the various accusations.
Ms Cole, a former Ultra Tune “rubber girl” who appeared in racy ads for the company, shares a child with the multi-millionaire.
The case will return to court in July.
