She was raised in Ahmedabad in a family of Gujarati heritage.

In 2011, Monal won the “Mirchi Queen Bee” pageant. It was her yoga teacher who advised her to take part in it. Monal did not partake in the auditions due to her job. To her luck, they had taken her straight through to the finals. She won the competition whilst wearing a salwar kameez whereas, the other contestants wore dresses and shorts. Later, she went on to win the title of “Miss Gujarat”.
Monal started working at the ING Vysya Bank straight out of college.
