Brock Purdy found his “forever girl.”
The San Francisco 49ers quarterback, 23, announced his engagement to girlfriend Jenna Brandt on Sunday in an Instagram post, sharing photos from the proposal that took place in Saint Cloud, Fla.
“My Jenna girl forever,” Purdy wrote. “I can’t wait to be your husband and grow together in Christ.
“Here’s to forever babe. I love you JB!”
Purdy’s teammates shared congratulatory messages in the comments, along with 49ers legend Jerry Rice.
“Congrats you two,” the Hall of Fame wide receiver wrote.
Influencer Sydney Hightower, who is married to 49ers linebacker Fred Warner, offered her well-wishes, posting, “Congratulations!!!!”
Running back Christian McCaffrey — who proposed to his girlfriend, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model Olivia Culpo, in April — commented, “Yessir! The President.”
Brandt also shared photos of her and Purdy’s engagement in a separate Instagram post.
“WE GET TO DO LIFE TOGETHER…FOREVER!” she wrote.
“Brock Purdy – I love everything about you & your heart for Jesus more than any words can say.”
Claire Kittle, who’s married to San Francisco tight end George Kittle, commented, “Congratulations guys!!!!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️.”
Purdy — the final selection in the 2022 NFL Draft with pick No. 262 — became the 49ers’ unexpected hero last season when he took over as the starting quarterback for an injured Jimmy Garoppolo in December.
The rookie threw for 13 touchdowns, four interceptions and 1,374 yards in nine games last season.
Purdy led the 49ers to a 7-1 record before tearing the ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) in his right elbow during January’s NFC Championship game against the Eagles, in which the 49ers lost 31-7.
The quarterback underwent surgery to repair the ruptured UCL with an internal brace on March 10.
Purdy was originally slated to have surgery on Feb. 22, however, the operation was postponed due to ongoing swelling.
Last week, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported that Purdy was headed to Jacksonville to throw over the next couple weeks with quarterbacks coach Will Hewlett and ortho specialist Tom Gormely.
San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan said last month that Purdy is “right on track” in his recovery.
Shanahan told reporters in May that the 49ers feel optimistic that Purdy could return in Week 1 at Pittsburgh.
Purdy also took the podium and explained that his goal is Week 1.
“I feel good, arm is feeling good,” he said. “To say I’m going to be ready by this time or this time, we’re not trying to label anything like that. That’s a goal, right?
“I want to be ready for this season. If that the case, great. But we’re just taking it one day at a time, and don’t want to say anything that we’d regret.”
